TÛRANOR PlanetSolar boat a World’s largest solar-powered vessel

TÛRANOR PlanetSolar boat is the globe’s biggest solar-powered recently departed from Monaco on September 27 in an attempt to rotate into the first boat to go around the globe using only solar energy. This latest boat built another world record in the boat’s belt.
The main aim to build this latest TÛRANOR PlanetSolar boat is to show that, throughout the use of accessible technology and materials, high-performance solar mobility can be possible.

Although the yacht is able of hosting 40 passengers and is intended to be used as a lavishness yacht following the circumnavigation effort, the boat is teamed by just six people. The multihull boat is roofed in 537 square meters (5,780 sq ft) of solar panels that power the four electric motors, which have an utmost output of 120 kW and can drive the boat to a speed of 14 knots.
Design of this latest vessel is awesome, it has 31 m (102 ft) long, 15 m (49 ft) wide was manufactured by Kiel-based boatbuilding firm, Knierim Yachtbau, via light thus far durable carbon-sandwich edifice. The power they capture is accumulated in six blocks, each holding 12 lithium-ion batteries. There is no more details are available yet, just check out its latest images above.
